Man’s Remarkable Creations Fail in Comparison to Gods

These ancient columns make us awe at the miraculous achievements of man. Each column was quarried in another location and numbered to fit perfectly together at their new location. However, these ancient cities are abandoned, and the columns have been destroyed or are deteriorating. Nothing man makes will ever be eternal.

God’s Amazing Creation: Us

You can’t find anything to compare to God’s miraculous composition of each person when you study the scientific intricacies of the human body. Once you get past the millions of anatomic complexities, there’s so much we don’t know compared to what we know. Studying our mind has revealed many things, but what do we scientifically know about our spirits and souls?

We can’t physically touch our spirits and souls, yet they exist. How can imperfect people explain something they didn’t create? To understand our spirits and souls, we must look outside ourselves to our Creator, God.

God created our spirits and souls to be eternal. He created us in their image to have a personal relationship now and throughout eternity. God knew we would mess up. But through his mercy and grace, he sent his only son to save us. How great is the love of God to create people with the power to choose him or to walk away?

Three Distinct Differences of Man’s Creations Versus God’s

Because of Adam and Eve’s sin, every person was born into sin, and their body will die. However, our spirits and souls are eternal. No one and nothing can change the fact that God created our spirits and souls. Let’s look at three distinct differences of God’s creation versus man’s:

Uniquely Hand Crafted

For You formed my inward parts; You wove me in my mother’s womb. 14 I will give thanks to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.

  • Psa. 139:13-14, NASB 1995

God created man in His own image; in the image of God, He created him; male and female, He created them.

  • Gen. 1:27, NASB 1995

Scientists have never been able to create human life from the minerals and chemicals within our bodies. They have never been able to create unique strands of DNA or breathe life into someone. There is no dispute that God’s power brings forth life, which is superior to ours.

Unfortunately, many people crave the power to be God instead of praising God for making us. The science industry has tried cloning, altering DNA, and creating robots to emulate God’s power. However, nothing man creates will ever compare to us, the original masterpieces of God. Instead of trying to be a god, why don’t we work with Jesus and live out the missions God planned for us and thrive in his love, joy, peace, and strength?

We Are Uniquely Designed to Work as One

God genetically created two types of people, man, and woman. Every man and woman was created for their unique missions in God’s plan, whether they choose to follow God or not. However, one of the devil’s greatest deceptions keeps us from exploring and discovering God’s truth about our unique design and place in God’s plan.

Our enemy wants to confuse us about our God and Christ’s identity. He wants us to follow the world’s ways, telling us we can create, alter, or completely change how we were genetically made to be happy. The devil tries to lure us away from embracing who God made us with lies, prejudices, and biases we have about God and Jesus from the painful experiences of imperfect people. He also uses distractions, the temptations of our flesh, and the desire to dull our pain with substances and addictions. He aims to keep us focused on ourselves instead of seeking God’s truth, healing, and restoration.

Every person has the opportunity to fulfill the missions explicitly designed for them by God with their unique personalities, skills, talents, and spiritual gifts. Yet, God’s master plan weaves us all together to work as one. The apostle Paul tells us how we are designed to work as one below.

For the body (of Christ) is not one member, but many. 15 If the foot says, “Because I am not a hand, I am not a part of the body,” it is not for this reason any the less a part of the body. 16 And if the ear says, “Because I am not an eye, I am not a part of the body,” it is not for this reason any the less a part of the body. 17 If the whole body were an eye, where would the hearing be? If the whole were hearing, where would the sense of smell be? 18 But now God has placed the members, each one of them, in the body, just as He desired. 19 If they were all one member, where would the body be? 20 But now there are many members, but one body. 21 And the eye cannot say to the hand, “I have no need of you”; or again the head to the feet, “I have no need of you.” 22 On the contrary, [m]it is much truer that the members of the body which seem to be weaker are necessary; 23 and those members of the body which we deem less honorable, on these we bestow more abundant honor, and our less presentable members become much more presentable, 24 whereas our more presentable members have no need of it. But God has so composed the body, giving more abundant honor to that member which lacked, 25 so that there may be no division in the body, but that the members may have the same care for one another. 26 And if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it.

We All Have One Purpose

When all of Christ’s disciples work together as one, it is a beautiful picture of a body functioning to its full capacity. What would happen in this world if all of Christ’s disciples loved others where they were and worked together to share his gospel? Being the body of Christ means we will work together to fulfill his purpose, not ours. Jesus tells us everyone’s united purpose before he ascended to heaven.

And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

  • Mat. 28:18-20, NASB 1995

God’s Creation of Us is Eternal

For we will put on heavenly bodies; we will not be spirits without bodies. 5 God himself has prepared us for this, and as a guarantee, he has given us his Holy Spirit. 6 So we are always confident, even though we know that as long as we live in these bodies, we are not at home with the Lord. 7 For we live by believing and not by seeing. 8 Yes, we are fully confident, and we would rather be away from these earthly bodies, for then we will be at home with the Lord. 9 So whether we are here in this body or away from this body, our goal is to please him. 10 For we must all stand before Christ to be judged. We will each receive whatever we deserve for the good or evil we have done in this earthly body.

  • 2 Corinthians 5:3, 5-10, NLT

Our bodies will all die. But God has new ones for us in heaven! Living in God’s eternal creation of us is yet to come. Take the hand of Jesus and follow him now and into eternity!
