The Riddle of Time as a Child of God

The Riddle of Time as a Child of God

It affects every aspect of our life and world.

It cannot be stretched or regenerated.

It regulates our life and world.

It cannot be purchased.

It cannot be controlled.

It constrains us

What is it?

Time

Time is the one aspect we live in which creates endings so we can have new beginnings. King Solomon, the wisest man, stated: “there is a time and season for everything.”

God created time for us, not for Him. Often, what we see as the restrictions of time are opposite in the eyes and design of God. He knows in our imperfectness on this broken earth, we need a certain amount of time to move and rest.  Without creating the boundaries of day and night to help us stop and go, we would burn out in every way.

God tells us He is the beginning and the end. In other words, God moves in looped time with His purpose and plan for us to all have the opportunity to spend eternity with Him. To help us see His loving plan for each of us, God tells us He knew us before He knitted us together in our mother’s womb. He also says He knows the number of days we will live on this broken earth. And best of all, God sent heaven down to us through His Son Jesus Christ in human form to show us it is possible to love, serve, and experience Him on this earth. Then like Jesus, we will live with our Father God and Jesus Christ for eternity!

Our experiences on earth make it difficult to fathom a timeless life. As imperfect people, we must acknowledge we only have a limited time to make the most of our life. As a child of God, will you choose to live your life and focus your time on loving and serving God and Jesus or yourself? What you choose to do with your time matters greatly to God, or He would not have created you right now for such a time as this. Partner with Jesus and you will discover how he wants you to spend your time serving God. Look forward to the new adventures Jesus will walk you through every day and spend your time wisely.

Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring. Proverbs 27:1 NIV

How are you spending your time on earth and what do you think that means for your eternity?
